    Review of the Comprehensive Plan

Work has begun on review of the Comprehensive Plan. This is the decision for the direction our city will move for the next 10 years. If it resembles the last Comp Plan, it won't mean much. In 2018, there were 21 rezonings, 17 amendments to the UDO, and 4 Comprehensive Plan amendments processed

    Neighborhood Conservation Overlay

College Station City Council is considering adding additional options for Single-Family Overlays, however there is little chance the option-no more than 2 unrelated- will be included in the "pick list" if the Planning and Zoning Commission is any indication. The March 7 workshop included a few addit

Contributions to College Station City Council Candidate

Where have all the contributions come from. We have one candidate who has had nearly $30,000 available for this campaign, more than twice the amount raised by all other candidates combined. If you want to see where all the money came from, here's a spreadsheet: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d

A City for Families and Children

By Shirley Dupriest Every parent wants their kids to grow up in a neighborhood where they are safe, confident and loved. College Station’s neighborhoods have this reputation, but it may not continue to be the case if we don’t encourage leadership to envision, fund, and execute policy that will serve

    Get Involved!

We need neighborhood captains to help mobilize voters for the upcoming City Council election. Do you know your neighbors? Would you like to get to know your neighbors? This is a fun and exciting project. These are nonpartisan races. But the development community will try to run City Council resul

    Need help with County officials

This is a Letter to the Editor, but unsure it will be published. Your help is critical. How do Brazos County residents provide input to the Capital Improvement Plan and Budget? In 2016-2017 Brazos County and Nantucket residents altered the 2050 BCSMPO Thoroughfare Map by downgrading Arrington from

    Why I Joined CSAN

This letter is from Nan Crouse. I was invited to join CSAN after some members saw a letter I’d written. It was a last ditch effort to encourage people to vote for the two neighborhood-friendly City Council candidates who were running in the last election, and I was sending the letter to everyone I k

    Is Schultz right?

Julie Schultz wrote, " It appears that only a small number of those who have neighborhood issues believe they are being ignored. " I'd love to hear whether people form neighborhoods all around town feel like they're being ignored or not.

    City Council Composition

The most important thing we can do to protect our neighborhoods is to assure that the city council is neighborhood friendly. This is not the case at this time. it is most frustrating to attend city council and P and Z meetings and, despite overwhelming opposition to harmful land use changes see thes

    Enough is Enough!

Note: This is my opinion alone and not necessarily that of this organization. So, In last Thursday’s Council meeting by a vote of 4-2 the council went against the wishes of most citizens, most notably those in the neighborhood directly affected. They also defied the neighborhood plan by allowing

To Waste or Not To Waste?

Are you aware on 2/5/2019 the Brazos County Commissioners approved an RFP # 19-096 for Rehabilitation of Arrington Road from city limits to just past Harpers Ferry? Improvements are always nice and especially on this road, but is it the “best value” for our taxpayer money at this time? There a
